What should you know before shopping around in Paris streets: Most shops opening hours are 10am - 7pm. However you will find places to shop open till midnight on the Champs Elysees Avenue. For shopping on Sundays also go to the Champs Elysees or in Le Marais district.

Tax refund

As a non-resident of the European Union, you are entitled to claim back the 12% tax you pay.  Here are the conditions for tax refund: Have your passport attesting that you are a non-resident of European Union - Have remained less than six months in France at the time of your purchase - Be over the age of 15 - Purchases must total over 175 Euros made on the same day in the same store.

For shoes, shirts, pants, suits, ... the French sizes are different from  American or British ones. If you are lost just ask the shopkeeper to help you - Most of them know the equivalency by heart or will just need a look at you to get you the right size.
